Meon Springs Dog Guide

Dogs are very welcome at Meon Springs in the Yurt Village, at the Shepherd's Huts and at the Fly Fishery.

Meon Springs offers dog- friendly accommodation in the Mongolian Yurts and Shepherd's Huts (please keep them off the beds).

It is your responsibility to keep your dog under control and to clean up after them. You are also required to have public liability insurance that covers their actions. This may already be covered as part of your household contents or pet insurance.

Local Vets

If your dog becomes poorly while on holiday at Meon Springs, you can be seen at St. Peter's Vets in Petersfield. Telephone number 01730 266431.

"I stayed in a yurt with four girlfriends and two dogs on the weekend of June 10th. The yurt was lovely, plenty of room for us all and the pooches. The Yurtery provided everything we could possibly want that the yurt didn't have. Plenty of room there too with a dining area, lounge area and huge kitchen. All facilities you could possibly want or need.

Outside the yurt was a bench table, hammock and chairs along with a fire pit/BBQ (where we cooked each evening). Lots of room overlooking a most splendid scenery of wheat fields. Lots of logs for burning once the temperature dropped and close to a toilet block.

All the toilets and showers were clean with hot water in the shower and, as a keen camper, I know this isn't always the case on 'sites'.

For me, the fact that my dog didn't have to be tethered was a massive bonus. He hates this! He is a well-behaved dog and didn't bother anyone so I'm sure if your dog is the same this wouldn't be a problem.

The walking was beautiful, rolling fields with no roads or traffic to deal with. I couldn't recommend this place enough if you like outdoor living; made more pleasurable by the great weather we had."
