There are plenty of footpaths and cycle routes to choose from. You can walk or cycle to popular beauty spots including Winchester Hill which has incredible views and beautiful wildflowers, Butser Hill and nature reserve, Queen Elizabeth Country Park or Meon Valley Trail. Also in walking distance of Meon Springs are the charming villages of East Meon and West Meon, each with their unique character. These villages are home to quaint country pubs, village shops, and picturesque churches. A delightful morning excursion could be a stroll to the West Meon village shop with a café serving delicious food or a scenic hike over the hill to East Meon to explore the beautiful grade I-listed church and its incredible Millennium Tapestry. Further afield you can explore historic Portsmouth and medieval Winchester with its cobbled streets, both within an hour's drive. Meon Springs is also close to Hayling Island, West Wittering beach and Hill Head beach, all of which can be reached in under an hour. East Hampshire is the heart of Jane Austen Country where you can visit the author's home, Jane Austen's House. If you feeling really adventurous, you can also take a day trip to the Isle of Wight, with regular ferry services from Portsmouth.
